Your mission
- Provide technical expertise in the field of oncology and immuno-oncology. In this role you will apply tumour cell biology and immunology expertise to characterise the tumour microenvironment, examining interaction of ECM with tumour cell and immune cell phenotype.
- Assume program leadership role within own discipline for key drug discovery projects. Has knowledge of related disciplines and how research in own field should be designed to take account of related disciplines. Propose and execute innovative experiments or technical work programs which influence overall program/project direction.
- Contribute to project progression using primarily cell-based screening and profiling assays to support validation and MOA studies. Experience of extra-cellular matrix biology would be highly desirable.
- Play a key role in the strategy and the decision-making process to support target validation and appropriate data packages.
- Expected to work independently liaising closely with colleagues within and across functional groups to ensure deadlines are met.
- Maintain clear and efficient communication, collate, interpret and present results, and contribute to reports where applicable.
- Influence the design and execution of experiments or highly technical work programs within his/her own discipline. Responsible for final outcomes of experiments and recommending process improvement when required. May lead specialist processes in support of own programme.
- Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing new scientific strategies in own discipline. Awareness of or contributes to scientific strategy and able to implement a six-month planning horizon.
- Able to appreciate and process abstract and complex data and results to then make significant decisions regarding programme/strategic direction.
