We are seeking a Scientist or Senior Scientist (12 month fixed-term contractor) to provide expert histology and tissue-based target validation support across our discovery pipeline.
In this role, you will apply histology, immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence approaches to characterise therapeutic targets in disease relevant models and human tissues. Your work will generate high quality data to support discovery programmes and inform decision making. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced industry scientist to contribute hands-on, impactful science across multiple programs in a dynamic biotech environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Histology & Target Validation Support
- Design and execute experiments to confirm and characterise therapeutic target expression using tissue-based approaches.
- Lead hands-on delivery of histology, immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence studies to assess target expression, localisation, and regulation in disease-relevant models and human tissues.
- Analyse, interpret and present histological data to support target validation and discovery decision making.
- Optimise and apply advanced tissue technologies such as multiplex IF, digital pathology and image analysis workflows.
- Maintain robust, reproducible and well documented histology workflows.
- Ensure high standards of data integrity, quality and traceability in line with Engitix standards.
- Provide histology expertise to discovery teams, working closely with biologists, programme leads and data scientists.
- Communicate results clearly to internal stakeholders to support scientific decisions.
