Engitix Therapeutics is a pioneering biotech company dedicated to unlocking extracellular matrix biology to develop transformative therapeutics in fibrosis and oncology. We are seeking an accomplished Senior Scientist of Macrophage Biology to play a leading role in defining novel targets in the macrophage-stromal interface.
We are looking for an expert in macrophage biology, who will use their experience to establish a high throughput monocyte and macrophage supply chain for biology and drug screening groups across the Discovery unit. In addition, you will be a lead in the nomination and validation of new targets at the macrophage-stromal interface with the potential to deliver therapeutic impact in both oncology and fibrosis disease areas.
You will also be a key member of a team establishing macrophage-based target screening assays combined with our novel extracellular matrix-based cell models and will utilise cellular, immunological, biochemical, molecular biology and functional genomic approaches to validate drug targets and novel therapeutic agents.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish high throughput supply of monocyte derived macrophages for multiple groups across the Engitix organisation
- Drive novel macrophage drug target nomination and validation
- Optimise co-culture assay systems based on stromal-macrophage interface in 2D and 3D platforms for drug screening
- Optimise macrophage target screening-based systems utilising functional genomic approaches such as siRNA and CrispR.
- Analyse, interpret, report and present results
