This is an exciting fully lab-based role in which we are looking for a scientist with strong experience in assay development within a drug discovery setting. You will contribute across the discovery cascade, from target validation through to biologics/small molecule profiling, to enable progression of therapeutic programmes. In this role you will apply innovative experimental approaches to interrogate pathway biology, validate novel targets, and characterise candidate drugs in fibrosis and oncology. Interest or experience in ECM biology is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply a range of molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques to investigate mechanism of action and pathway biology
- Design, develop, optimise, and troubleshoot robust biochemical and cell-based assays to support target validation, screening, and biologics / small molecule characterisation
- Perform pharmacological profiling of compounds, including dose-response studies and data interpretation (e.g. IC₅₀/EC₅₀ analysis)
- Establish and maintain mono and co-cultures of primary cells and cell lines
- Contribute to ongoing research on oncology and fibrosis drug discovery projects
- Independently analyse, interpret, report and present results
